CONVENTION ITALY:
SUCCESSES AND NEWS OF THE GROUP
06/06/2016
From May 16th to May 20th it was held the annual Convention of AEB. Five intense days full of stimuli, in order to make a point about the activities and strategies of the Group, as well as to share best practices and exchange views on major projects and future initiatives. All this in the beautiful surroundings of the city of Foligno, in Umbria.
Our CEO Mario Tomasoni inaugurated the conference by presenting the good business results and the extremely promising and positive market scene where the group operates. In this regard, a major emphasis was given to strategies, opportunities and prospects at national and international level.
Of great importance was the contribution of all Country Managers, who suggested some improvements to globally optimize activities and processes. Interesting ideas were born also during the group work about oenology and food, in order to identify market opportunities and strategies.
Many products and equipment in the field of oenology and food & beverage were presented. Under the guidance of Benedetto Amoroso, Director of the oenology business and of the activity of Research and Development of the Group, some interventions followed about the innovations that will be launched in the coming months on the market. From this point of view, the participation was significant and the new products have been warmly welcomed and shared by all members of the company.
The Convention 2016 has been characterized by the news, not only from the point of view of the products, but also in terms of communication: the new corporate site was launched with great satisfaction, which winks to the design but above all aims to the easy availability of all technical documentation.
Another important initiative has seen the light during this Convention: we are speaking about the Laura Menozzi Award, dedicated to a dear colleague who died recently. The competition notice, that will give the best oenological innovation a prize of 10,000 Euros, represents the wish to directly involve professionals, universities and especially the world of young people, besides giving a great opportunity to make progresses in the field of oenology.
As an evidence of the attention and support carried out by AEB towards the final customer, at the convention also spoke Silver Giorgini, Head of Quality & Innovation of the Orogel Group, an Italian company leader in the food industry.
The increased cooperation with universities also brought on the stage of this edition prominent profiles in the field of research: first Vincenzo Gerbi, professor of the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Food (DISAFA) of the University of Turin. Then the intervention of Rémi Guerin-Schneider, member of the Institut Français de la Vigne et du Vin (IFV) and Tommaso Bonciani, who has been working since 2014 at the UMCC Group (Unimore Microbial Culture Collection) in Reggio Emilia and takes care of the genetic improvement of yeast strains for oenological use.
The convention was also an opportunity to share experiences and to learn more about the wine culture: from the visit to the Wine Museum of Torgiano to discover the richness of Umbrian wine, culminated with a visit to the Arnaldo Caprai cellar, one of the most interesting realities of the Italian enological world, that is an AEB standing customer.
